Stability: No UV absorption >250 nm and not subject to direct photolysis. In 3 months, 5% w/w solutions in non-buffered water (initial solution pH 4.7, initial free acid <0.1 g/kg IR3535) showed no measurable (<0.2%) degradation in a refrigerator (+2 to +6°C), about 10% degradation at room temperature (20-25°C), and about 80% degradation at 40°C. Hydrolysis of the ester is acid atalyzed.
